The Tour de France à la Voile takes place from 6 to 22 July from Dunkerque to Nice through the most beautiful French coast. This edition, the 32nd, will honor the skippers and their trimaran, Diam 24. This type of boat is designed by VPLP, a naval architecture firm and built by boat builder ADH Inotec.
The hulls are glass fiber over PVC foam core, infused with polyester resin, with carbon fiber strategically used for reinforcement where needed. The beams, which join the three hulls, are made with same way, but using an epoxy resin.
Hexcel composite materials, supplied by Composites Distribution, have been used for the DIAM 24’s mast construction from the outset. From the HexPly M79 prepreg, the masts could be manufactured to offer a flexible cure cycle.
The quality of Hexcel’s materials and the reliable & flexible service of Composites Distribution were highlighted.
